Ever since I moved to Israel, I make a yearly trip back to England, to visit my family and close friends. On one of these visits I took their portraits at home. Despite the intimacy I felt when making these portraits, having spent twenty years living in an entirely different culture, I was also aware of having the alternative perspective of an outsider; a foreigner at home.
