personal > street studio 1996-2010

In 1996 I began to travel around Israel with a portable, 'Avedon-style' studio - a white background taped to a wall in the shade - taking portraits of passers-by who caught my attention. In this ongoing project, I work in town centres on Friday mornings when most Israelis are out shopping or socializing before Sabbath eve. Each portrait reflects a brief connection with a total stranger; together they are a dynamic document of Israeli society. Limited edition fineart prints are available - contact for details.
